DOT and NON DOT Drug Testing

One Call. Complete Compliance.

Drug testing serves various
purposes in different contexts, such as
pre-employment, random, DOT, emergency, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, return to duty, and probation testing.

These screenings aim to ensure workplace safety, comply with regulations, address potential substance abuse issues, and
maintain a healthy and productive environment.

Whether assessing job applicants, ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, or responding to specific situations, drug testing plays a crucial role in fostering a
secure and efficient work environment.

DOT and Non-DOT Drug Testing (DOT vs. Non-DOT- )

What’s the Difference Between DOT and
Non-DOT Drug Test?

DOT Drug Tests: These are federally regulated DOT drug tests required for CDL holders and other safety-sensitive
positions under agencies like FMCSA, FAA, FTA, PHMSA, USCG, and FRA. DLT is commonly used as a lab or billing code for DOT 5-panel urine tests compliant with 49 CFR Part 40.

Non-DOT Drug Tests: These tests are commonly used for employers who want to conduct pre-employment or
random drug screening outside of federal regulations. While still using secure chain of custody procedures,
Non-DOT tests are not regulated by FMCSA or DOT, and testing requirements are set by the employer or organization.

We can bring certified testing directly to your workplace or site, reducing employee downtime and ensuring rapid, reliable results.
